What ethical / legal issues need to be considered when implementing this database? Explain.
- Privacy is a legal issue when implementing this database as it has to be considered to keep the privacy of the Artist. As it might not keep the Artist’s details confidential with their concern.
- Copyright is a legal issue as it concerns the plagiarism of the songs in the database if they are from a private or public album and/or the internet. These songs are from another owner who needs to be credited. You should always have the permission from the Artist. If this doesn't occur without the artist knowing then it is a copyright law called 'music priacy' general term referring to the illegal duplication and distribution of sound recordings. The pictures of the Artist have to be taken in concern as it might be a copyright law from the photographer who took the picture and doesn’t want his or her’s photograph copied.
- Copyright is also an ethical issue as you do not want to plagiarize someone’s ownership of their photograph or songs which is morally wrong.
- The Government’s rules and regulations is a legal issue for people under a certain age which might restrict them to search and browse on this database. This shouldn't be a worry as the database doesn't involve anything to restrict a certain age but the precautions have to be taken.
Thus all these issues had to be considered when implementing the 'digiatl music database' as this database does include images, music, and artist's information. |
